About Us
Our Story So Far
Since 2015 we have been working hard to protect one of the most biodiverse and important conservation areas on the planet, Maputaland, part of a world biodiversity hotspot and a Centre of Endemism.
Rehabitate Wildlife Fund is the implementing arm in South Africa and Ubuntu Wildlife Trust is our Fundraising and awareness arm based in the United Kingdom. Both charities originally started out in 2015 under the name The Wild Lion Trust. This was a small vehicle to support the work of reserves and larger charities in the area. However, we realised that there were important gaps in the work being done, particularly with the restoration and expansion of habitats, and that we needed to change and grow The Wild Lion Trust. Thus Rehabitate and Ubuntu were born.
