Clinton Wright

Chief Vision Officer

Clinton was born and raised in South Africa and his passion for conservation started from the time he could communicate.

Growing up on a farm in the Nelspruit (Mbombela) region of Mpumalanga, he spent his childhood exploring the bush and travelling in the Kruger National Park.

Clinton has a BSc. (Agriculture) Animal Science degree, BSc. (Hons.) Wildlife Management and MSc. Wildlife Management.

He has over 20 years of experience in community conservation, education, and charity work having co-founded 5 charities in the US, UK and SA, all of which are running today.

He was the driving force behind the formation of the Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve, from concept to declaration, and co-authored the government approved Protected Areas Management plan and various Management Plans for other Big 5 declared reserves.

Clinton manages the projects on the ground, communicates with role players and stakeholders, and forges the vision for various Ubuntu Wildlife Trust programmes with our incredible partners.

He lives in Maputaland with his wife and son, and their cat Mithi, dog Daisy, and a few spiders and scorpions.
